We are looking for a superstar Accounting Associate to assist in managing the day-to-day accounting activities. The Accounting Associate provides financial, administrative and clerical services to ensure an accurate and efficient operation. While the primary responsibilities of an Accounting Associate are focused on our merchant accounts receivable, we are looking for an experienced associate that can grow with us.

Job Responsibilities

  • Generate merchant accounts receivable billings and email invoices to merchants
  • Process incoming ACH payments through an online banking portal
  • Prepare and process bank deposits for checks and remote deposit capture items
  • Generate and email account statements on a monthly basis
  • Monitor merchant accounts receivable aging and perform follow up procedures as necessary
  • Apply merchant payments to their respective account in the accounts receivable system
  • Import banking transactions into the accounting system and ensure completeness and accuracy
  • Prepare bank account reconciliations
  • Record credit card expenses in the general ledger, assigning or correcting account coding as necessary
  • Reconcile assigned general ledger accounts and prepare periodic reports and journal entries as needed
  • Perform other related duties or ad hoc projects within the scope of responsibilities

Experience / Skills Required

  • Associates Degree in Accounting
  • 2+ years of combined experience in Accounts Receivable, Cash Management, and/or General Accounting
  • General knowledge of accounting procedures and reconciliations
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (primarily Excel)
  • Accuracy and strong attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize work efficiently to complete projects
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate clearly and accurately with internal and external customers
